What Size Sli Bridge Do I Need

I have a Gigabyte z170x Gaming 7 motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/production-page.aspx?pid=5481#ov) and I'm going to be SLIing ii GTX 1080s. I will be getting the Nvidia HB SLI bridge. What size practice I need to be able to apply it for the PCIe slot nearest the CPU and the one directly under? (The center one) Cheers in advance.

As well would you suggest I remove the backplate for SLI?

Edit: I don't have a measuring tool in mm. Anyone accept this mobo?

If you gyre down to nigh the bottom of the folio, y'all'll find a section nigh SLI Bridges and a link to help you find the right size. Since your motherboard has a three slot separation between the PCI-Ex16 slots for SLI, that's the one yous'll need (60.96mm).

Because some extremely loftier end cards tin saturate PCIE ii.0, so they put the bridge to lighten the load on the omnibus ever so slightly. A modern lath with PCIE 3.0 doesn't have to worry well-nigh this.

tells me nada ?? amd is just bridgeless like I said bear witness me something from NVidia official doc's

If you scroll downwardly to about the bottom of the page, y'all'll find a section about SLI Bridges and a link to help you lot observe the correct size. Since your motherboard has a three slot separation between the PCI-Ex16 slots for SLI, that's the 1 you'll demand (60.96mm).

that's a guess I approximate ? how hard is it to mensurate things and be 100% certain ?? it would now exist funny you go with the 60mm and find y'all really needed the 40mm

SLI compliant boards, will accept to come across Nvidia's spec, on spacing. There is nothing to "approximate" here.
